Picture on top: The African Pygmy Hedgehog (*Atelerix abiventris*) curls up into a ball when it senses danger. It also convulses to try to spike the predator. Found at found at South Wick Zoo (42.0647272, -71.580996).
Picture on bottom: The Prairie Dog (*Cynomys ludovicianus*) often retreats to its vast tunneled home when danger is detected. I had just caught this picture as he reemerged to scout out danger again, after fleeing when I approached. Found at South Wick Zoo (42.0647272, -71.580996)
