Egan: Parisitism

This Domesticated Donkey (Equus africanus asinus) is the host to the parasitic Deer Tick (Ixodes scapularis)  located on it's lower neck. This host/ parasite interaction demonstrates parasitism because the tick is benefiting at the expense of the donkey. It as a non-mutual process.
