Schoen: Mutualism

Found at 42o21’32.74”N, 71o02’56.06”W, these photographs demonstrate the mutualistic relationship between a Clownfish, Amphiprion percula, and the sea anemone Condylactis gigantea. These two species live with one another to better each other. Clownfish live in the anemone, providing the anemone with scraps of food. In turn, the anemone gives the Clownfish a place to live and protects it from most predators with its stingers.
