Hingorany: Evidence of Evolution

This is the Bactrian Camel, Camelus bactrianus, located at N42'21.2, W070'59.3. The ancestors of the camel, the protylopus, lived in North America about 40-50 million years ago and was about the size of a rabbit. As it migrated to Africa and Asia, it gradually gained height and developed the humps that help it survive in the desert environment.
This is the Boa constrictor, located at N42'18.25 W071'09.3. Its ancestors had legs, but in order to sneak up on prey more effectively, it would slither. Due to the lack of use of its legs, the snake's legs disappeared over time. It also developed the ability to squeeze its prey to death, creating an easier means of obtaining food.
