Hingorany: Mating Behavior

Tihs is an Emu, or Dromaius novaechollandiae, located at N42'27.21, W071'07.25. During mating season, a male and a female Emu will usually mate every day, with the female laying an egg every two to three days. After her seventh egg, she will proceed to mate with another male, and she may do this up to three times. The males sit on the eggs and brood for about eight weeks, during which they do not eat or drink, before the eggs hatch.
