Schoen: Dominant vs. Recessive Phenotypes

Bennett's Wallaby
Macropus rufogriseus
Location: 42o03’54.51”N, 71o35’04.25”W

An example of dominant vs. recessesive phenotypes can be found in the coat coloration of Bennett's Wallabies. The right photograph shows a wallaby with the dominant phenotype, a brownish fur coat with a black nose and blackish eyes. The photograph on the left shows a wallaby with the recessive phenotype, albinoism. The recessive phenotype of albinoism gives the wallaby on the left its white coat, pink nose, and red eyes.
