Zhang: Vestigial structures

The Little Blue Penguin
(
Eudyptula minor)
The wings of penguins are vestigial structures because
penguins are flightless birds, so their wings are not
needed. The things that penguins now use their wings for are
balance and swimming. Unlike their ancestors, penguins
cannot fly.
